Since these resins are widely used in the composite industry it is vital to recognize their properties. For this purpose, viscosity, burning rate, limiting oxygen index (LOI) and flexural properties were measured. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy and thermal gravimetric analysis were also performed. The viscosity of unsaturated polyester resins which was in the range of 300 to 450 cp showed an advantage compared to the viscosity of epoxy resin which was in the range of 600 to 1000 cp. The low viscosity property which is usually seen in unsaturated polyester resins is very important from the processing point of view, which in turn helps to ensure a simple processing. The ortho resin showed the highest conversion and conversion rate among the three unsaturated polyester resins. The vinyl ester resin showed a higher conversion than the iso resin. The results showed that the vinyl ester resin had the highest thermal resistance, flammability and mechanical properties among the unsaturated polyester resins used in this work. On the other hand, although the epoxy resin showed the highest burning rate but it had the highest carbon residue or char yield (12.4%) and LOI (20.2%), and consequently the highest thermal resistance. The results of flexural test showed that the epoxy resin had the highest flexural strength (116 MPa) and modulus (4.1 GPa) and the lowest deflection-at-break (2.8%) and toughness in comparison with the unsaturated polyester resins used in this work.}, keywords = {resin,unsaturated polyester,epoxy,composite,flammability}, title_fa = {مطالعه مقایسه‌ای مقاومت گرمایی، اشتعال‌پذیری و خواص مکانیکی رزین‌های پلی‌استر غیراشباع و اپوکسی}, abstract_fa = {در این پژوهش، خواص گرمایی، اشتعال‌پذیری و مکانیکی سه نوع مختلف رزین پلی‌استر غیراشباع ارتو، ایزو و وینیل استر و رزین اپوکسی برپایه دی‌گلیسیدیل اتر بیس فنول A بررسی و مقایسه شد. نظر به استفاده گسترده از این رزین‌ها در صنعت کامپوزیت، شناخت دقیق خواص آنها برای انتخاب بهترین رزین بسیار حائز اهمیت است. بدین منظور، از آزمون‌های گرانروی سنجی، طیف‌سنجی زیرقرمز تبدیل فوریه (FTIR)، سرعت سوزش، تجزیه گرماوزن‌سنجی (TGA)، شاخص حدی اکسیژن (LOI) و اندازه‌گیری خواص خمشی استفاده شد. از آنجا که گرانروی رزین‌های پلی‌استر غیراشباع در محدوده  300cp تا 450cp قرار دارد، از مزیت شایان توجهی نسبت به رزین‌های اپوکسی برخوردارند که گرانروی در محدوده 600cp تا 1000cp دارند. از میان سه نوع مختلف رزین پلی‌استر غیراشباع برررسی شده در این پژوهش، رزین ارتو بیشترین مقدار درصد تبدیل را دارد. پس از آن این مقادیر به ترتیب متعلق به نمونه وینیل استر و ایزو بود. نتایج نشان داد، رزین وینیل استر، خواص بهینه‌ای از نظر گرمایی، مقاومت در برابر اشتعال و مکانیکی در میان رزین‌های پلی‌استر دارد. از مقایسه رزین اپوکسی با انواع پلی‌استر مشاهده شد، رزین اپوکسی سرعت سوزش بیشتری دارد، اما مقدار زغال باقی‌مانده (12.4%) و درصد (20.2%) LOI آن بیشتر و در نتیجه از پایداری گرمایی زیادتری برخوردار است. نتایج آزمون خمش بیانگر آن است که رزین اپوکسی مدول ( 4/1GPa) و استحکام خمشی (116MPa) بیشتری نسبت به رزین‌های پلی‌استر دارد، اما مقدار خمش تا شکست (2.8%) و چقرمگی این نمونه از سه نوع مختلف پلی‌استر غیراشباع کمتر است.}, keywords_fa = {رزین,پلی‌استر غیراشباع,اپوکسی,کامپوزیت,اشتعال‌پذیری}, url = {http://jips.ippi.ac.ir/article_1297.html}, eprint = {http://jips.ippi.ac.ir/article_1297_f2815b260cd8edd6e2df869fc0e0d1c3.pdf} }
