As a result, interest in discovering the applied new materials have increased. Polyurethane foams are used in a variety of energy absorbers. In this study, the mechanical properties of a pentanediol-reinforced methylene diphenyl diiscocyanate (MDI) polyurethane foam have been investigated. Methods: Foams were prepared by direct mixing of the reactants. Standard samples have been developed to study the compressive and tensile properties. The specimens were made by adding 5 and 10% pentanediol to a same polyurethane compound. Quasi-static strength and compression tests have been performed and the results have been reported. The microstructure of the foam has been investigated using scanning electron microscopy (SEM).Findings: Comparison of the results showed that, despite the strengthening of the compressive strength of the polyurethane foams by adding some other chain-extenders, the compressive properties of polyurethane foams, including the strength and absorbed energy with the pentanediol as an additive, are not significantly altered, but the elastic modulus and plateau modulus increased significantly. The specific absorbed energy of foam is also increased by adding 5 and 10 percent pentanediol to 11.7% and 12.6%, respectively. The results of tensile tests also showed a high sensitivity to the addition of pentanediol. With addition of 10% pentanediol, strength, fracture strain and foam toughness increased by 37.9%, 57.1% and 137.5%, respectively. The elastic modulus of the tensile samples was also increased by 6.9% in adding 10% pentanediol. Also, the results showed that the substance exhibited smaller cells and a more uniform structure by adding 1,5-pentane diol.}, keywords = {polyurethane foam,mechanical properties,quasi-static,pentanediol chain-extender}, title_fa = {بررسی تجربی اثر زنجیرافزای پنتان‌دی‌ال بر خواص مکانیکی اسفنج‌های پلی‌یورتان برپایه MDI}, abstract_fa = {فرضیه: مواد و سازه‌های جاذب انرژی در حفاظت از جان انسان‌ها کاربردهای زیادی دارند، از این‌رو، علاقه‌مندی به کشف مواد جدید کاربردی در این زمینه افزایش یافته است. اسفنج‌های پلی‌یورتان در انواع جاذب‌های انرژی استفاده می‌شوند. در این مطالعه، خواص مکانیکی اسفنج پلی‌یورتان بر پایه متیلن دی‌فنیل دی‌ایزوسیانات (MDI) تقویت‌شده با زنجیرافزای پنتان‌دی‌ال بررسی شده است. روش‌ها: اسفنج‌ها با روش اختلاط مستقیم واکنش‌دهنده‌ها تهیه شده و برای بررسی خواص فشاری و کششی، نمونه‌های استاندارد تهیه شدند. نمونه‌ها با افزودن دو مقدار 5 و %10 پنتان دی‌ال به ترکیب ثابت پلی‌یورتان ساخته شدند. سپس، آزمون‌های فشار و کشش شبه‌ایستا انجام و نتایج گزارش شده است. ریزساختار اسفنج با میکروسکوپ الکترونی پویشی (SEM) بررسی شد.یافته‌ها: مقایسه نتایج نشان داد، با وجود تقویت استحکام فشاری اسفنج‌های پلی‌یورتان با افزودن برخی از سایر زنجیرافزاها، خواص فشاری اسفنج‌های پلی‌یورتان بررسی‌شده در پژوهش پیش رو، شامل استحکام و انرژی جذب‌شده با افزدونی پنتان‌دی‌ال تغییر محسوسی نکرد. اما مدول کشسانی و مدول ناحیه‌ نیرو ثابت (ناحیه مسطح) آن به‌شدت افزایش یافت. انرژی ویژه جذب‌شده اسفنج نیز با افزودن 5 و %10پنتان‌دی‌ال به‌ترتیب 11.7 و %12.6افزایش یافت. نتایج آزمون‌های کشش نیز حساسیت شدیدی نسبت به افزودن پنتان‌دی‌ال نشان داد. به‌طوری که با افزودن %10 پنتان‌دی‌ال، استحکام، کرنش شکست و چقرمگی اسفنج به ترتیب 37.9، 57.1 و %137.5 زیاد شد. مدول کشسانی کششی نمونه‌ها نیز با افزودن %10 پنتان‌دی‌ال، %6.9 افزایش یافت. همچنین نتایج نشان داد، ماده با افزودن 5،1-پنتان‌دی‌ال سلول‌های کوچک‌تر و ساختار یکنواخت‌تری نشان داد.}, keywords_fa = {اسفنج پلی‌یورتان,خواص مکانیکی,شبه‌ایستا,پنتان‌دی‌ال,زنجیرافزا}, url = {http://jips.ippi.ac.ir/article_1679.html}, eprint = {http://jips.ippi.ac.ir/article_1679_01a2e8b0bce130f675f1364dfe4facd0.pdf} }
